Lovin’

  • Feeling like you’ve gotten so much out of your day.  I’m exhausted but feeling accomplished.
  • Sunny cool days.  Starting to unpack the beanies and looking for matching mittens to go on tiny hands.
  • Community events, especially when they’re free!
  • Apple Cider season – so yummy!
  • The way the word, “Mama” sounds coming out of the mouth of a 17 month old – even at 0500.
  • This totally awesome leather recliner and ottoman I’m sitting in right now that I got at a thrift store for $25 – it just happened to be 50% off day!
  • The micro-fleece bedsheets I’m about to crawl in to and enjoy for about three seconds before falling asleep.

Lovin’

Can I put any more on my plate right now?  Wait, let’s not even go there – because I can, and I just might.

So, we’re moving at the end of the month which is exciting and wonderful but the day before the move and up until then I’m also preparing for my first ever vending event on the 29th and it’s taking up a lot of my brain right now – but in a good way.  I may have to give a sneak peak this week on my facebook page of the shirts I’m designing – so fun!  But about the house:  the amount of space we have will double, there’s a fenced in backyard (a backyard!), a basement and a detached garage.  The kitchen is about the same size but filled with light – never mind that I look into my neighbors house.  Oh, so much work to do this month I’m trying to not get overwhelmed (although I find myself lying awake in the middle of the night making mental to-do lists).

In the mean time, there’s lots to love about right now:

  • Busted out the crockpot/slowcooker this week.  First up:  black bean soup -that went fast.  Next is good ol’ split pea.  Why did I hate this soup as a child?
  • First puddle stomping of Autumn.
  • Fleece and long sleeves.
  • Leaves crunching under my feet.
  • Kissing warm, soft, sleeping Sofia cheeks – can’t get enough!
  • Creativity with my homemade bread recipe – this should get more interesting as the month progresses as I try to empty out the freezer!  The last batch saw an increase in quinoa and flaxmeal – delicious!
  • Excercising with my husband.  Something we used to do all the time but not so much after Sofia came along.  We just participated in a 5K obstacle course run on the one sunny day last week!
  • A good meal with good friends that we don’t see often enough – watching as our kids eat very little dinner but have so much fun playing together!
  • That I can get Sofia to eat Kale if I put it in a smoothie.
  • All the times my mom made me go to 4-H meetings when I didn’t want to and participate in the different activities.  I’m not really sure how I will handle this with Sofia as I never thought I would make her do something she didn’t want to  (within reason) but being a part of that learning environment gave me more confidence as an adult to try new things food and sewing related.  I was in the Home Economics side of 4-H rather than the farm animal side.
  • That I have the freedom to be creative.

What are you loving right now?
